A decade after its first attempt at retail, Microsoft is trying anew as it works to gain greater control over the image of its products and how people buy them.
The company announced Thursday it will open its own branded retail stores -- selling its software and hardware, such as the Xbox 360 game console -- though it didn't specify where or when.

Like the Sony centre branch of stores (Don't know if you have them in the U.S??) in the U.K. I hope the microsoft stores aren't as bad as the Sony ones......They are horribly over priced!!

Nah, we don't have sony stores in the us. For the most part, i don't think single company electronic stores would survive here, seeing as we have such a variety of electronics stores.
