Intro

The original Halo game is one of the best games that has ever come out, and one of my top favorites. From it's excellent story and fun gameplay, to the multiplayer, and the infamous Library level, this game has it all.
Graphics 10|10

This game has very good graphics considering it's now nearly 7 years old. The views that you can see as you wander around halo are magnificent, cliffs, oceans, snowy mountains, and the Forerunner structures, it all looks good. The weapons are all well designed, the characters look good, and it feels very good when you play it.
Sound 10|10

This game has one of the best sound tracks I have ever heard in a video game. One of the tracks has become one of my all time favorite songs ever, and it all brings together the levels very well. On top of that, the various other sounds such as those of the monitor, the flood, the covenant are all very well done and are high quality. Plus some of the things you hear the marines say are just ridiculously funny.
Controls 10|10

This game has very good, fairly standard first person shooter controls, and are very easy to learn and master. From shooting and aiming, to just having fun moving around, these controls are simple enough to get whatever you're doing done without a problem.
Story 10|10

The story in Halo is one of the best stories I've seen period, whether the medium be television, movie, book, or video game. You are set as a super soldier crashed on an alien ring world, an being hunted by The Covenant, a group of aliens out to destroy all humans because of their beliefs. Along the way, you begin to learn about the aliens that built Halo (not The Covenant) and what it's purpose is. The level "The Library" is one of the hardest, longest, most grueling levels in a game, but also one of the most fun as well. And another level is the most creepy, suspenseful level I've seen in a shooter game.

Halo is very fun for a variety of reasons. The campaign is awesome, and allows for many playthroughs, and the multiplayer is one of the best out, setting the stage for the enhancements in Halos 2 and 3.
Replay 10|10

This game is very replayable, not just for multiplayer as it is for many games, but for the single player campaign as well. This is one of the few campaigns I've seen that I don't mind going back to play over and over again despite it's age and that I already know the story. On top of that, the multiplayer never gets old, and the game features some classic maps to play on.
Seriously. I guess we can't give games a perfect score. It must be cutting off that last 0, because the average algorithm seems to be working, if you look at other games that is.

I once heard of this strange breed of gamer, who preferred the first Halo games to the later ones, never before came across one though. Maybe it's because of where I live...everyone I know thinks the games got progressively better, or at least I think...
--- Master Chief dies at the end of H3? Big Deal. When I was playing he died like a hundred times...it never seemed to slow him down before.
They didn't really get worse, but Halo had the best campaign I've ever played in a non rpg game, and better than most rpgs as well so...the multiplayer did get better though.

I rather liked Halo 2, they managed to make a game look pretty good for the hardware it was running on.
