Intro

Everyone has at least heard of the Pokemon games, if not at least tried them once. Since their rise over a decade ago, Pokemon has flourished and become the number 2 selling franchise behind Mario. As it has evolved, it's changed only slightly from the original idea behind it, and that idea was very fun. The original Pokemon games (Red and Blue) are enjoyable and can take up a lot of time in your quest to catch them all.
Graphics 7|10

The graphics in the game are very basic. Mostly just sprites and fairly static animation, but that isn't much of a hindrance for these games. While they could use with some updated graphics and colors, the simplicity helps the game out, keeping it easier to see and maintaining a nice feel.
Sound 8|10

The soundtrack for Pokemon is not awesome, but it sticks with you after you've played it for a long time. It is one of the most memorable hand held soundtracks I've heard, and has many good themes. Combined with the affects for fighting and hearing the Pokemon speak (sounding nothing like they do on the tv show I might add) make for an overall good sound quality.
Controls 9|10

This game had very simple controls, as most hand held games tend towards. Menu navigation was fairly simple, and battling was easy. Movement gets much nicer once you've obtained your bike, so overall the controls were very nice.
Story 8|10

Pokemon Red/Blue had very simple stories. Beat all the gym leaders so you can make it to the Elite 4, beat them to get to your Rival, beat your Rival, and collect all the Pokemon in the game (a feat which requires access to both the Red and Blue versions). Simple, not very story driven, but with enough other plots/side quests to make it very enjoyable.

The original Pokemon games were and are some of the most fun games for Nintendo's handheld series. The whole collecting raising your Pokemon is extremely addicting, and keeps you playing for hours. These are easily games that you can spend tons of hours on playing them.

Pokemon Red/Blue are some of the most replayable games out there. Whether you are picking it up every so often to continue your quest to get all the Pokemon or restarting it to go through the game again, it is easy to go back to it. It is one of the games I play most on my gameboy advance so many years after its release

Master Chief dies at the end of H3? Big Deal. When I was playing he died like a hundred times...it never seemed to slow him down before.
