Intro
================================================================
Ninja Gaiden as a series is known to be extremely difficult. This game is no exception, but is still extremely fun. You play Ryu Hyabusa in a quest set a year after the end of the last game, and battle countless demons along the way.
Graphics 10|10
================================================================
This game is beautiful. Completely and absolutely gorgeous. Even my mom, who hates violent video games with a passion, commented on how great the graphics looked. The characters model were superb, the buildings all look well done, and the enemies had many cool designs. The weapon designs and evolutions as they leveled up were really cool. Basically, visually this game rocked. (It was also done by the people who did DoA 4 for 360, so you can see many similarities).
Sound 9|10
================================================================
Ninja Gaiden had a very good soundtrack, the only problem was that in places where you were stuck for a long period of time due to either the difficulty or not being able to find your way out the soundtrack got annoying and repetitive. Despite this, the voice acting was well done and the overall sound effects were quite good.
Controls 7|10
================================================================
The controls in this game were not absolutely horrible, but the camera did get to be a bit of a problem some times. There was one place that called for extremely accurate jumping that the camera hindered quite a bit on. Otherwise, the controls were very decent. When fighting, it almost felt like a fighting game with combos and counters and other things normally seen in fighting games.
Story 8|10
================================================================
The story in Ninja Gaiden 2 is fairly predictable. It's the basic world is in danger, hero is called on, hero fights progressively harder bosses, hero eventually prevails. While it does not hinder game play or anything, it is not as original as it could be, nor is it told as well as it could be.
Fun 9|10
================================================================
Ninja Gaiden 2 is a very addicting game. Despite it's difficulty, you'll keep going back to get more done. Play through is very fun, and overall it is easy to learn how to play.
Replay 9|10
================================================================
This game is fairly replayable. Despite the frustration the difficulty caused, as soon as I beat the game I started the next level higher. There are things to collect, plus a mode to replay with all your abilities and weapons intact, which helped with the overall replayability of the game.
